'Shazam!' box office is looking at a strong $40 million opening weekend

This may not seem much for a comic book movie after the success of Captain Marvel, but Shazam! is looking to make a strong $40 million in the US in its opening weekend. This is a DC film that has been made on a $90 million budget, and is the introduction of a brand new character that many people will not have even heard of. This is a film that will be considered a success if it makes $400-$500 million worldwide, so the predictions of a $40 million opening is a very strong showing for the small comic book flick.

Netflix to set its own age ratings for film and television programmes

The British Board of Film Certification (BBFC) has given permission for Netflix to age rate their own content and apply a British certification onto their films and television shows. The BBFC's head of compliance, Craig Lapper, has said that this decision was made down to the sheer amount of content produced and distributed by Netflix, meaning that the traditional method of having the content be viewed by a member of the BBFC committee is simply not comprehensible anymore.
